On the afternoon of September 16, the opening ceremony and entrance education for 2023 graduate students of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering was held in 8B126 Lecture Hall of Modern Transportation Engineering Center. Yu Rong, Secretary of Party Committee of School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Fang Yu, President, Huang Zhongzi, Deputy Secretary, Wang Dazhong, Yan Zhenrong, Zhang Liqiang, Liu Xintian, Vice Presidents, deputy directors in charge of graduate students of each department and office, all graduate counselors and all 302 new graduate students of Class 2023 attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Huang Zhongzi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
Yu Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, on behalf of the College, congratulated and welcomed the new students who had successfully entered the postgraduate life after experiencing and overcoming the difficulties such as the Xin Guan epidemic, and she put forward three ardent hopes for the students, firstly, to cultivate oneself with moral integrity and be thankful, secondly, to dare to innovate and be brave, and thirdly, to be youthful to the Party and strive for a strong country. Secretary Yu sent students to think independently in their studies, dedication in teamwork, and courageous mission in the new era and new opportunities to contribute to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Dean Fang Yu introduced the situation of the college and its schooling characteristics and achievements to the new graduate students from the aspects of historical changes, professional settings, faculty and discipline development, hoping that students will base on the strategic needs of the country and the development of the society, aspire to a high level of ambition, down-to-earth, cultivate academic thinking, ethical concepts and practical ability, improve comprehensive quality, and draw a wonderful life in the pursuit of excellence.
Zhang Haifeng, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Manufacturing, spoke as the representative of the tutor, encouraging the new students to strengthen their responsibility, perseverance and strict self-discipline to make greater progress.
Zhou Yuxuan, the representative of the old students and the president of the Graduate Student Association, shared his academic and practical experiences since his graduation, and encouraged the new students to expand their academic boundaries, dig into the level of knowledge, and contribute to the society with the majors they have learned. Liu Shiyuan, the representative of new students, said that she would take thought as the rudder, knowledge as the sail, and practice as the mast, and ride the waves and go forward on the new journey.
A new starting point, a new journey, new students join the engineering university, for machine and automobile college injected new vitality and vigor.
